Our guests experience...

Here is what some of our guests had to say about their stay at the Manoir.

The French Manoir is an enchanting home, displaying beautiful antique treasures in a harmonic way. You can sit in any corner of the house and feel peace. It has been restored with love, preserving and respecting the identity and charm of the house such as the wood or stone flooring, doors, and ceiling. The garden is a haven of tranquility, surrounded by pine trees, lavender, and roses. I used to sit and have a cup of tea at the front garden where there is a big pond and see with pleasure my kids playing hide and seek, running in such open space and picking up acorns and wildflowers.  At night, you can see how bright the stars shine illuminating the house and garden in a magical fashion. The dark or hazy sky that I am used to seeing became admirably bright royal blue during the nights at the French Manoir.

I loved that the house is old but restored in a functional way. For instance, the kitchen had on one side a very old chimney made of bricks, an old wooden mirror and astonishing blue plates hanging from the wall and on the other side the latest appliances and all new kitchen tools. I would be cooking and seeing from the window squirrels climbing trees. A fresh breeze used to ventilate the house from the beautiful big windows.

We had the perfect host, Julie. Upon Julie greeted us with her warm smile and showed us around the house. Rooms had beautiful flower arrangements and were very clean. She gave us tips about interesting places to visit and suggested the antique flea market happening just a few kilometers away from her home. We drove hundreds of kilometers to discover France, passing by small villages and stopping by for delicious pastries along the way. I felt at great peace looking at the green prairies, endless fields of crops and forests of giant pine trees.

Last but not least, to say that the house had very comfortable beds and the brand new restored bathrooms had proper showers with immediate hot water. The house supplied us with soaps and detergent for the washing machine.

I always dreamt about staying in a manor with acres of land, going to the countryside and taste its delicious crepes, and mostly shopping antiques in a flea market in Europe. All these dreams became true; I am so thankful and grateful for all these blessings and most dear to my heart to enjoy them in the company of my precious family. Thanks, Julie for offering your beautiful home and making my dream come true, for your gracious hospitality and the last minute souvenirs. It was a gift of a lifetime. Thanks, Julie!!! Love, love, love!!!

Words cannot express the extraordinary experience we had at Julie's French Manoir!  From the first email inquiry to the moment we were greeted by Julie's beautiful smile at the front steps of her chateau, we instantly felt like we were being reunited with an old friend.  Julie is the quintessential host.  Before we arrived, she even helped us create a driving guide to tour the cutest french country towns in the area.  Our stay at the charming chateau was so memorable.  The bedroom was beautifully decorated with the loveliest antiques, flowers freshly cut from the garden and the bed was DIVINE (we slept like a baby).  We will always remember waking up to the smell of french coffee, the alluring sound of opera music, and the warmth of the fireplace in the kitchen while Julie prepared a delicious farm-to-table breakfast.  Every morning was like Christmas morning!  We will never forget the warmth and joy in our hearts that we felt during our stay at the French Manoir and cannot wait to return!  It is truly a special place.
